A miraculous day
This morning I went to Goriza - everytime I hear the name in my head I think of Goritza, don't know why - which is a city being renovated and really quite pretty, or will be. Then on to the beach for the afternoon and early evening. It it a great beach:
Today I was hopping from rock to rock when one of the rocks moved and I fell! I could have broken something but didn't just cuts, one nasty one on my foot which I have a picture of but which I am not going to post (too gory!). What astounded me is that there were 3 people around and none of them even looked around to see what had happenned. People!!! I just don't understand them.

Sunday
It is May 26th and the weather here in Lyon is far from summer like but I suppose that that is really how it should be, as we are still in Spring. What am I doing, listening to the radio firstly to Desert Island disks (not sure if that is the correct spelling) with Deborah Bull, dancer. A couple of her choices would be mine too: The streets of London and Forever Young.

Can I ....
Can you lend me this? Can you lend me that? Simon you are so generous. I am not generous, I am normal. But this evening I have understood that Queer of Folks is so true. More than 30 and you are a has been in the gay communty. They are so shallow. Shit, I am so naive!
I am so angry tonight.
I am so angry tonight.
The forgotten ones
THis evening I am so annoyed and so fed up with the young. I have done everything to support the gay mariage thing here in France: I have taken part in the demonstrations, put stuff on facebook and this evening when everything has gone through it is a straight friend who tells me that she has been having a great time celebrating with 'our friends' who haven't even bothered to get in touch with me to go and celebrate with them. What is this? OK they are 30 and I am 60 but without the support of the last 40 years where would they be now? I am so upset. So hurt!

Life is not so bad after all
I wrote the last part of my blog on my phone, but it is so much easier here on my mac. Anyway, I was saying that in fact I am having a lazy Sunday and am making the most of the time reading and looking at photos from the last month.
It is when looking at the photos that I see that life has not been so bad. A photo of the plane which took me to Liverpool and family at the end of last month.
I was going to put a photo in but it is just to long to find one. While there I visited the Lake District, Poulton-le-Fylde, Fleetwood and Blackpool. Next comes the visit of my sister and brother-in-law and our meal at the Brasserie Georges and in Mougins, visits to Grasse and Canne. Then a couple of weeks ago it was 'La semaine des arts' at CPE Lyon, where the students did a smashing job of putting on a different show every night for 6 nights! At the weekend I went to Nyon, Switzerland, to see my sister and her son. I even got a little sunburned on my head! Last week it was sunny, so I spent time in the garden doing the gardening with Nikos, who is staying at the moment. Next week I am off to London to see William, Kat and Emelie - so, all in all, life is really quite good.

Latter Days
After a long day working I decided to have a good cry so I put on 'Latter Days'. Don't know why, but it always has that effect. Probably cos I am not in a relationship and would love to be in love like Aaron and Christian! Yeah, stupid, a grown man living his life through films. Not exactly, as in fact I find myself alone and just live my life through the imaginary lives of others. Bon, une amie vient de me téléphoner pour me mettre sur le bon chemin!!
No, if you like love stories watch 'Latter Days' a film by C Jay Cox.

Have you heard of 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'? I had heard of this film but hadn't had the chance to see it while it was in the cinemas. I suppose it appeals to only a part of the population, the more mature, and well, perhaps didn't do that well.
A few weeks ago I saw it for sale on Play.com and decided to buy it and I am really glad that I did and it is a real piece of entertainment. So, if you get the chance to watch this film - go ahead, you really won't regret it.
