YouTube and Adsense

 So I am looking for something to occupy myself during my retirement. 

Years ago I started this blog, but there are only a few people who follow it and I fully understand why; there is nothing really of interest to read or see as the main purpose when setting up the blog all those years ago was to have someone to talk to!

Anyway, I noticed that I had set up Adsense all those years ago and thought I would look to see how much I had made. 1,20€ since the beginning LOL! But I also have a YouTube channel where I post mainly private videos for the family but also videos for public viewing. They are not edited at all but some of them have had quite a few viewings. I thought I would link my video channel with my Adsense account however these days I need to have a minimum of 1000 followers and at least 4000 hours of viewing. At the moment I have 3 followers and 2 hours of viewing in the last year!

What to do? Well, I know, having watched videos on YouTube, that most people make very little from their work but it would give me a sense of purpose. I need to think of a theme or themes and to take a few online courses on video editing. 

I had thought of doing some teaching but I really don't want to find myself tied to a timetable for a year. In my mind, I will be zooming off from time to time to visit the world but I know that this will not happen as my pension only just covers my living expenses, nevermind extra money for travel, so this idea that a regular teaching job would hinder me is not really true. So why do I think that? Probably, this is just telling me that I don't want to do any more teaching quite simply. 

Other ideas: setting up an online business, but really what I would like to do is to meet people as here in a small French village I know only one person, a neighbour who works away from home! I really need to do something which will bring me in contact with others. 

Volunteer work! But no. I really need a little extra money so could only volunteer on an ad hoc basis. 

Write but my writing is not really of a very good standard and apart from things which affect me, I don't have a very inspiring imagination. 

The eternal circle. However I need, for once in my life, to really get down to doing something productive, especially with autumn and winter looming ahead.
